About our Club

The Broad Oak Sports & Social Club (formerly known as the Marconi Sports & Social Club) is mainly used by employees of Airbus Defence and Space (formerly Astrium) and BAE Systems (including the Dockyard),  although there are also many Associate Members (i.e. not employees of above companies). More are always welcome. We currently have about 1,100 members of whom about 30% are Associates.

We can trace our history back to the 1950's when two sites from Coventry (Browns Lane and Broad Oak) were transferred to Portsmouth, although it it is only since 1988 that we have had our present premises. Prior to that we were inside the Marconi Defence and Space facility, as it was known in those days.

We are a friendly and familly orientated club with a comfortable Members' Lounge and a Function Hall, which may be hired by Members when not being used for Club activities.

We have two snooker tables, a   pool table and dartboards available to Members and their Guests (who must be signed in).  NB The equipment is reserved for our teams on match nights.
